My Work-At-Home Job Search Criteria & Why This is the Perfect J-O-B for Stay-at-Home Moms:
When searching for a job that I would be able to do at home as a SAH mom, my criteria were as follows:
-Have the ability to pick my own hours and days that I work, which were early in the morning before the kids wake up or after they went to bed at night.
– Daycare is just not in my vocabulary! (We will save that discussion for another day. ) I also happen to (mostly) love the freedom of being at home with my daughter. I just wanted a part-time work at home job that pays for our extra-curricular activities, presents, going out to eat, my personal spending, savings, etc.
Oh and before someone says it…doing surveys are a Hell to the NO for me. I absolutely loathe taking surveys, because they take forever, require actual attention, and pay very little. I’m also not trying to do a call-center type of job in my home because of the set hours, and…Let’s just say …I’ve been there, done that, disliked that; It straight- up just doesn’t bring joy to me. Also, Swagbucks, Ibotta, and other apps like that just do not fully fund what I have going on quick enough. If any of those are your cup of tea, I am no hater and am not talking down at all.
Butttttt..if you would like a post on any of those above, let me know in the comments below! I’m here to help you and give you my honest opinions.
How I arrived at the idea of Teaching English from Home:
Teaching English online has become increasingly more popular over the past few years, but a lot of these ESL online teaching jobs do require a 4-year college degree aka Bachelor’s and/or TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) certification. I actually looked into this type of work in the past and was only able to find companies that required the degree and certification. Flash forward to the present, I just happened to be searching for remote work at home jobs on Indeed. I came across a posting that I haven’t seen before.
It is called “Magic Ears,” which is one of the jobs I will be discussing below. This online teaching job advertised that there was no college degree required. I wasn’t even thinking that teaching English online without a bachelor’s degree or certification was possible. I scoured through reviews on Magic Ears and YouTube videos to ensure it was legit and not too good to be true. After coming across Magic Ears, I figured that there must be more of these types of English Teaching jobs online that didn’t require a degree, and here they are below for you:

I do have a bonus company for you to take into consideration if you are serious about making money at home as an online English tutor. However, as you can see, I did not include them in the list of online ESL jobs without a degree. Although you do not need a degree for this following company, I did not include it because you would need to pay for a TEFL course, put study time in, and get the certification. If you did get the TEFL certification, it would set you apart from other teachers and help you book more jobs.
You can purchase a discounted TEFL certification on Groupon or just google it. The most recent posting I saw was under $40 on Groupon.
I hope I was able to provide some useful information in this post. If you know of any other companies that one can teach online without a degree, please share it with all of us in the comments below! If you do work for or have worked for any of these companies, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
