Day 1: The 30 Day Blogging Challenge Begins

Self-Discipline is my word and goal for 2020.

Looking back at the past has made me realize that if I had more self-discipline. I could be 20x more successful in any area of life!

So, what exactly is this “30 Day Blogging Challenge”, you ask? It’s basically a short-term goal I have set for myself. The main purpose of this challenge is to take my blog seriously by posting consistently, making it a habit.

I started this blog almost a year ago, and let’s just say that I have not been producing consistent content at all! I have just one handful of posts…literally ONE hand! I’m disappointed that I have wasted all that time. I honestly love the process of creating a blog, writing, researching, and being able to share interesting things with the world. It’s a creative outlet. It’s also a way that I hope to make a living one day soon.

But wait…there’s another reason I’m doing it.

I’m trying to lose weight. Ugh..I know , so cliche and typical for the “New Year.” For those of you that know me in real life, you know I’ve said it over and over and have shared bits of it on social media over the years.

I’ve been successful 2 times. Once when I was a freshman in high school and after my first daughter. It’s been a yo-yo -up and down fluctuation all 28 years of my life, because I LOVE FOOD!

I hate saying I’m going on a diet. I also don’t like the phrase “New Years Resolutions.” I just associate those 2 phrases with failure. So, that’s why I use the words goals and challenge. I’m challenging myself this year like never before.

I was in the “best shape of my life” after I had my first daughter. I was constantly working out and eating pretty good as well. At that time , I believe I weighed about 135. Flash all the way forward to 2020…I’m in the worst shape of my life. I feel tired all the time. Im….I don’t even want to share it..I’m embarrassed…I’m 5’2 and 75kg. Lol, do the math…convert that.

I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired of not accomplishing my health and fitness goals. I would like to be at my best for my girls and for myself!

Just FYI, I started the eating right and in a deficit on Jan 7. It’s now Jan 14. I’ve been tracking all my meals in the MyFitness Pal app. I highly recommend you do that go make sure you are not over or under-eating.

But yeah, I thought that I would share my weightloss journey and use this 30 day challenge to show you what I eat in a day. I may share some workouts and tips. Most importantly, I’ll share progress and photos. You let me know what you want to see!

Without further ado, here’s what I ate today.

Breakfast: I don’t eat at a specific time. I eat when I feel hungry. Today I ate around 9AMish.

I’ve been obsessed with avocado toast but ran out of my specific low calorie bread. I wasn’t about to use the Italian white bread. My goal is to use whole-grains. So, smoothie bowl it was.

The smoothie bowl doesn’t look that delightful in this pic, you just have to try it. It definitely curbs my sweet tooth and is surprisingly filling.

I also had a cup of Jasmine Green Tea for the antioxidants and energy!

I have been doing a cleanse and today was the last day. I’m honestly not sure if it worked. I wasn’t in the bathroom as often as everyone described in the reviews.

Other than that, these are some daily health supplements I’ve been taking.

I’ve learned to chase the wheatgrass with my Apple Cider Vinegar water. It works way better than any other beverage or lemon juice.

Lunch:

Lettuce Wrap Sandwiches…except they weren’t technically wrapped since I only had romaine lettuce.

PS: the everything bagel seasoning will change your life. I use it on all my avocado toasts and now sandwiches!

Snack:

2 of the Sedimentary Cookies from Trader Joe’s because it fit in my calories for the day.

**They’re 200 calories each but have good ingredients in them, except for the sugar. I’ve pretty much cut out all white sugar and use honey instead for everything.

Dinner:

Side salad inspired by Olive Garden.

I actually used the light version of the Olive Garden Dressing. It was only 30 calories for 2 tbsp. It was bomb.

Dessert:

These were so good and juicy! As you can see, they were only 100 calories. We got them from Costco.

That was all I ate today. I did do some HIIT and booty workouts at the gym today. I also did and have been doing a 5-10 minute an workout before bed every night.

I hope I gave you some motivation and maybe some ideas for weight-loss foods. I’m excited to share more.

I’m signing off for the night. I’m at 1% and my charger doesn’t reach my bed lol.
